New Year's Resolution Recommendation

With the new year starting I would like to encourage all to take a moment to remember our family and the good memories that we have had. Imagine if the stories that you have been told were never shared with your children, what a loss this would be.

So with my emotional appeal to you take a moment, five minutes at least, and write or record a memory for your posterity. These nuggets of memories are golden to us that receive them. It is important to have them.

For me just to have five minutes of my great-grandfathers voice is wonderful to me. Can you remember hearing yours? For many all we have is a short journal entry, even that is great. As a descendant I value hearing and reading the snippets of our ancestry. With the technology of computers we can all share what we have and duplicate the artifacts of our past with ease and little cost.

Mary Christmas

Merry Christmas!

Just in time for the season, I have put up Mom's Christmas collection of songs for your holiday. She made this tape (back in '84?) for her grandmother - Estella Teel. oooo. ; P
I don't know who played the piano but it is mom's singing and I know it was recorded with a simple tape recorder.

Helen Harker Audio Collection

Since this summer I have been slowly converting cassette tape recordings of family members to MP3 format so that all in the family can have their own copy.

In this spotlight I have Grandma Helen Harker sharing memories and stories. Dad (Robert) records Grandma on cassette (October 2nd and 9th, 1982). The tape is aged and is in two parts for each side of the tape.
