Looking for...?

Families spread out as time goes on. And so do the photos and the memories.

Who is Who?

As time goes on, we see the photos, but lose the identity of our predicesors. Hopefully we can identify them all.

Lemire Collection Additions

Thanks to cousin Ellen, we have additional photos to insert into the Lemire collection. Not all additions are shown. I have replaced the zip file to include these photos. Since we have a nice little bundle of obituaries and death announcements, I have taken those items and placed them in an Adobe PDF format. (It makes printing easier.)
The photo -right, is of Marie Lemire Turcotte. She is Marie Louise Pepin Lemire's sister. It was taken in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Also in the collection we have this photo (left) of Henry, age 44, and Amanda Dupont, age 34, taken in Russell, Manitoba, Canada [1931].

These again are compressed zip folders that you can download and unzip to gain access to the photos. If you can't uncompress them you can download a free application to install that will open the file for you: 7-zip (For Windows OS) [There should be no problem for MAC users]

Teel Collection

Ok here is the Teel collection I have put together so far. The Teels were really big on taking photos and so I have pooled all that I have with me so far. I know mom has some more and will get those to scan soon.

I have photos of Burr Joesph Teel, Joe Teel, Theodosia Teel, Mary Kelly, Adah "Estella" Ellis, William Kelly, and a copy of Minnie Teel's wedding announcement. Some of the photos that I have posted earlier in the blog are also included.

I also have added the link to GGpa Joe Teel's audio histories that I have uploaded a while back. They are in MP3 format and you can just download them from the linked page.

Again I have at made a "ZIP'ped" file for family to download. As more are found/shared with us I will update and add to the collections for you to download.
The top right sample is of GGGma Mary Kelly and GGGpa Burr Joseph Teel. The lower right image is of GGma A. Estella Ellis and GGpa Joe Teel.

These again are compressed zip folders that you can download and unzip to gain access to the photos. If you can't uncompress them you can download a free application to install that will open the file for you: 7-zip (For Windows OS) [There should be no problem for MAC users]

Warth / Green photo collections

I am trying to get all of the photos together that Anj and I have, and well with six kids, life, work and other means of distraction - as you know makes the process go pretty slow.

So with that in mind I have at least made some ZIP'ped files for family to download and well have a copy of what I have. As more are found/shared with us I will update and add to the collections for you to download.

I have two links for Angie's side of the family:
The top right sample is of Great Gpa & Gma Green standing in front of the truck for their decorating business. The lower right image is of the Leland Warth family.

These again are compressed zip folders that you can download and unzip to gain access to the photos. If you can't uncompress them you can download a free application to install that will open the file for you: 7-zip (For Windows OS) [There should be no problem for MAC users]

Sis. Marie Lionel (Florida Lemire)

Here are two photos of Aunt Florida Lemire, sister to Beatrice. The first is of Florida age 18 before going into the convent with friend Rose Yves (sitting)- 13 Jun 1911 Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The next photo is of Sis. Marie Lionel (Florida) in her latter years.

These photos are from Ellen Allen's collection. -Thanks Ellen.

I have photoshoped these to take out the scratches and to sharpen the image a bit.

We do have an audio history mp3 where Beatrice talks about taking care of Florida prior to her death.

Bluebeard's 8th Wife

Grandpa Geo. O Woodford owned this painting called Bluebeard's 8th Wife. It was painted by his aunt Amelia Woodford around 1901.

Grandpa describes this painting along with another painting that he owned in this rare audio recording. G.O.W. Paintings

More information about the painting's inspiration can be found on Wikipedia.

Thanks to Ellen Allen for sending a photo with the painting in it.

Sarah Ellis possibly Serah Felland (Ellis)

Here is a photo identified as Sarah Ellis, which I am not sure of. As one can see that this photo was taken around the early 1900's.

Adah Estella Ellis was born in 1899 (married to Joe Teel), her mother was Serina "Serah" Felland (married to Ira Benson Ellis in 1893). I am assuming that this photo is of a young Estella -right, and Serah -left.

Please make comments if you have any more information.

Thanks to my Mom for the following information:

Mother Sara (Serina ) is on the right...the lady on the right is either a friend or a cousin. Sarah had bright red hair and like all the other ladies in the family did not gain weight until she was about 45 years old. She had a beautiful soprano voice sang often in the EUB church Filomouth Oregon. She sewed beautifully making lace and fine hand work. She cooked plainly but well. She had finishing school as a girl and as far as I remembers was very patient and kind.

Grandma Warth and Girls

Here is a picture of "Grandma Warth, Beth and Vida." I am not sure who the tot is but I hope someone does.

Grandma Margaret Warth (Smith) was married to Jerome Warth in 1936.
They had 9 children. Beth -or Elizabeth Anne was the youngest. Our line comes through Robert Warth - Margaret's fifth child. I am speculating that Vida was the eldest daughter.

If anyone has more info please comment.

Grandpa Arthur "Bud" Harker

Here are two photos of Gpa Arthur Harker.

The first one is of him as a baby, while the second is of him as a toddler. (Nice bowl cut Grandpa!) These photos were scanned by Robert Harker, his eldest son.

Grandpa is the eldest son of Arthur LeRoy and Florence Winters. He has two sisters. His wife is Helen Andersen. We have Grandma Harker telling about Grandpa's and her courtship and early married life in MP3.

Arthur and Helen have a large family of descendants from their eight children. Grandpa has made for most of his great-grand kids a variety of wooden items from rocking chairs, to trains, cars, trucks and more for all to treasure.

Lemire Sisters

Here is a picture of two Lemire sisters (about 1940-50). The sister on the left I assume is Amanda (Dupont). The other sister living at that time was Florida Maria, who was a that time a Nun. The sister on the right is Beatrice Evangeline.

Their parents were Zacharie Lemire and Marie Louise Pepin. Zacharie and Marie had 12 children-6 boys and 6 girls. Amanda was the second born, while Beatrice was the youngest.

Grandma Beatrice "Mere" was married to Harvey Vernon Brockway in 1918 (Letellier, Manitoba, Canada) and had three children; Frank, Leo, and Pearl. In 1959, Mere married George Oliver Woodford in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mere died in November 1985.

I remember Mere as short and thin (a petite 4' 9"), having a french-canadian accent and an amazing positive approach to everything. Grandpa George loved her very much. Mere had a three foot tall doll. I remember my sister wanting to play with it. Grandpa George gave it to her after he found out that she had never had a doll of her own.

Thanks to Frank Brockway, we have now an audio history of Mere in MP3 format to download to hear some of her memories.

Charles Sumner Brockway

Here is a small photo of Charles Sumner Brockway (circa 1890-1900). I touched up the photo a bit so that you can see it better, the original image file wasn't that great but at least we have one.

Charles was married to Paulina Maude Perry, Father to Harvey Vernon.
Harvey was born in Nebraska.

If you know more about him please comment.
